Location: Circuito del Jarama, Madrid, Spain
Date: May 25–26, 2025
Result: 🥉 Kevin Pesur – 3rd Place
After a somber and unexpected delay to the 2025 Drift Masters Grand Prix season—due to the cancellation of Round 1 following the passing of the Pope—the championship finally came alive at Round 2 in Madrid. And it didn’t disappoint.
Held at the historic Circuito del Jarama, the weekend served up everything from sweltering heat and mechanical retirements to high-speed crashes and last-minute drama. Through it all, Kevin Pesur delivered a calm, consistent, and confident performance, landing third place on the podium and kicking off the season strong.
Kevin Pesur’s Road to P3
Kevin’s journey to the podium was full of intense moments, strategic driving, and unexpected twists:
-
Top 32: ✅ Win against Mika Keski-Korpi – A solid start to the competition with clean execution and control.
-
Top 16: ✅ Win against Pawel Korpulinski (OMT) – A back-and-forth battle that pushed both drivers to the limit. After a One More Time call, Kevin edged ahead to move on.
-
Top 8: ✅ Advanced past Juha Rintanen – Unfortunately, this battle didn’t go the full two runs. Juha ran off track due to a mistake in his lead run, handing the win to Kevin. It wasn’t the ideal way to advance, but as we all know — this is motorsport.
-
Top 4: ❌ Loss to Itay Sadeh – A small understeer moment and tire-related setup issue gave the edge to the sharp and talented driver, who would go on to finish 2nd.
-
Play-Off Battle for 3rd: ✅ Win against Jack Shanahan – Jack’s chase run ended with major understeer in Turn 1, opening the door for Kevin to seal a well-earned third place.
